Bringing Sunshine to Your Travel Journey
Every trip holds a moment that nobody planned for. The restaurant you almost skipped. The excursion your teenager swore they wouldn't enjoy. The morning you looked at each other and said "why not?" and ended up hundreds of feet above the water in a parasail harness, laughing and a little terrified, wondering how this became the best part of the vacation.
I started Sunshine & Travel because I wanted to help more families find those moments. Not just the itinerary. The memory underneath it.
I live in Colorado, which means I've spent years discovering what it looks like when a destination surprises you. Places like Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, which most people drive right past on the way to somewhere more familiar, and which stops you cold the first time you see it. That habit of looking past the obvious is something I bring to every trip I plan, whether it's a cruise through the Caribbean, a multi-generational family experiencing a new country together, or a week that starts at Universal Orlando and ends with your kids parasailing off the coast of Clearwater Beach.
Real experiences leave the lasting memories.
I travel with my family, including younger kids, which means I've learned what works and what sounds better on paper than it is in practice. We look for local food, cool museums, and the kind of unexpected detour that turns into the story everyone tells at Thanksgiving. We also learned (the hard way) to book the bowling alley reservation at Cabana Bay at least 24 hours in advance.
The details matter. They're what differentiate a trip people remember from one they're glad is over.
When I plan travel for someone else, I'm thinking about all of it. The room layout that gives a family of four enough space to actually relax. The shore excursion that works for the grandparents and still keep the kids engaged. The restaurant nobody else at the resort has found yet. The small St. Patrick's Day surprise coordinated through a hotel's text service that a family talks about long after checkout.
Those are the details that create the WOW.
